How Does This Individual Represent “Excellence in Engagement”?

JaVale McGee began his internet ventures in 2011 during the NBA lockout while playing for the Washington Wizards. At the time, McGee’s YouTube series with teammate Nick Young—launched after their “Cinnamon Challenge” stunt went viral—was frowned upon because the organization felt McGee was losing focus of business on the court. Fast forward seven years later and McGee (and his creativity) found a new home in the Bay Area in an age where content reigns.

Parking Lot Chronicles, which lives on former teammate Kevin Durant’s YouTube channel, racked up 3.5M views across the first ten episodes and hosted a diverse panel of guests—ranging from teammate Andre Iguodala and former sidekick Swaggy P to Michael Rapaport and rapper E-40—for conversations in (you guessed it!) the parking lot of Oracle Arena.
