Best Female Athlete on Social Media
Sydney Leroux is many things: soccer superstar, mom, and social media manager for a toddler named after a sporting icon and a chihuahua named Boss. But while “Boss” has thousands of active followers, Sydney holds the top rank in her household, touting a 2.2M Twitter follower count and the highest percentage of follower growth of all female athletes in 2018 (beating out must-follows including Odell Beckham Jr., LaMelo Ball, and Serena Williams).
Her most notable social media moment came in October of last fall when she opened up about a recent miscarriage on Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day. Now expecting her second child, Leroux returned to training for the Orlando Pride in March, documenting her journey on social media to further destigmatize pregnancy for working moms and female athletes. Her personal, emotional, and often hilarious posts resonate with fans of all ages and genders.
